Two sisters just blogging about their passion: halal food!

About

We are Sadia and Nadia, sisters who have a passion for halal food. Our culinary hobbies include trying new restaurants, different cuisines, and instagramming pictures of food. Sadia loves to cook and bake, while Nadia enjoys eating only. Follow our blog to read about our food adventures and recipes.

A few interesting facts:

  • We are both working professionals who manage to find time to enjoy halal food
  • We started blogging because we would share our adventures with friends and family and we were suggested to put it together on a blog
  • One of us has actually taken a course on Fiqh of Food & Fasting (by Sheikh Yasir Qadhi)
  • If there are different opinions on a subject, respect different opinions
  • One of us is enrolled in Bachelor of Applied Science – Nutrition & Food degree program (we love food that much!)
  • One of us wants to combine an interest in photography and food to become a food photographer one day, inshallah!

If you have any restaurants or recipes that you’d like us to try, please feel free to give us a shout! We welcome constructive feedback.

You can either fill out the feedback form below or are more than welcome to directly email us at halalfoodenthusiasts[at]gmail.com

  1. love your site! really helpful for us Muslim foodies in Toronto.. keep up the good work! 🙂

  2. I just discovered your blog through a review you did for On The Bun on Facebook. I really like what you’re doing and the food reviews are great. They answer the majority of questions that many people would have, like cost, what the food looks like, portion size, cleanliness, etc.. This is very helpful in helping chose halal restaurants and your reviews have made it that much easier to find different places now especially so since we visit from out of the city. So this makes that much easier and provides more variety.
Keep up the good work, and I hope that you keep this thing going on a regular basis, and thank you once again.

  3. Hello,

I wanted to introduce our great and new halal Peri-Peri flame grilled chicken, steak, ribs & burger restaurant located in Heartland Town Center in Misssauga. We are MESH Peri-Peri Grill (like us: http://www.facebook.com/Meshgrill). We would love to have you sisters review us and come by our store for halal peri-licious foods.

    Address:
5955 Latimer Drive, Mississauga (behind Home Depot & in the CIBC/Hockey Life Plaza in Heartland Town Center).

I have provided my contact details; FYI: our store front signage will be ready by next week as we have a temporary banner in the front. Look forward to hearing from you.

    Regards,
    Hamad

  4. I am the owner of a takeout restaurant called Silver Spoon which has branches in Mississauga, Brampton, Milton and the Greater Toronto Area. We pride ourselves on our quality halal food offerings as well as the variety of our menus, which include Pakistani, Indian and Chinese Hakka cuisines.

I would be honoured if you sisters could feature us on your website in a review or mention. If there is anything I can do to make it possible, please let me know.

    Regards,
    S. Khan

  5. Just discovered your site! What a great idea 🙂 Wish you all the best! xx

  6. I recently discovered your blog and you both are amazing! I went through your reviews about some restaurants and it made my job easy now for which restaurant to try first. I love baking so me and my daughter always explore recipes for cakes and cookies. You can check our Facebook page to see my daughter’s creations…naureen sweets!
Thanks again and keep up the good work!

  7. Bacon on your burgers???!!! Aren’t you Muslim?

    • We are blessed to be living in the city of Toronto where they have halal beef strips that look like bacon. Given that these halal beef strips are very popular here, most of us refer to it as bacon knowing that we are referring to the halal version of it. Although the term bacon is traditionally used for meat products made of pork, you can now find turkey and vegetarian bacon at the grocery store. They are still labelled as bacon due to the way they look but are not always made of pork. We hope that clarifies it for you.

  8. Hi, I am new on wordpress and discovered your blog. It is a very interesting one as I also hold a Degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management. I love as well as totally enjoy cooking. This specific Halal Food Blog concept is very attractive. I look forward to your new posts. Good luck to you both.

  9. Salaams,

I’m thankful to google for putting me your way. I was searching for halal restaurants and came across your blog.

I’ve recently immigrated from the UK. Having lived there all my life, I can tell you all the restaurants to go to. I’m a big foodie, and at this hour am already thinking of lunch tomorrow.

My husband having lived in Canada for many years, sadly doesn’t know many restaurants. He is trying, but is struggling!

Sadia & Nadia you’ve made my life a little easier with your reviews. I’ll happily accommodate you on your next venture.

May Allah shower you both with his blessings and mercy always. InshaAllah. Ameen.

  10. Assalaamu alaikkum.. I want to order some cup cakes or cakes for a 1st birthday for a baby girl. Do you accept orders and deliveries?
